Golden*Ratio Goats Are Bred For Correct Structure & Superior Production

Meet the foundation of our breeding program: our Lamancha dairy goat bucks. Each buck is selected for exceptional genetics, strong milk-production traits, and overall sound health. Their influence shapes the quality, sustainability, and long-term success of our herd. By focusing on proven lines and consistent performance, we aim to support a more resilient and productive future in dairy farming. Celebrate these remarkable animals and the vital role they play in advancing responsible, sustainable agriculture.

A Bit of Our Philosophy

At Emerald Mountain Farm, our LaMancha breeding program focuses on producing correct, long-lived animals with strong milk production. Our goal is to raise healthy, high-yielding dairy goats that perform well in a variety of environments. We begin by selecting does and bucks with proven lineage and performance. Breeding generally takes place in the fall, and kids arrive in the spring. This schedule supports natural rhythms and provides ideal conditions for healthy growth.

To reserve a kid, we require a non-refundable deposit of $100 for intact doe and buck kids or $50 for wethers. A reservation guarantees your kid for up to six months.

Doe Kids:
Prices begin at $350 for kids 1–4 weeks old and $450 for those 4 weeks to 3 months. Premium breeding lines are priced higher, with explanations provided. If you select a premium doe kid older than four weeks, please add $100 to the listed premium price.

Buck Kids:
Prices start at $300 for kids 1–4 weeks old and $400 for those 4 weeks to 3 months. Premium breeding options include detailed reasons for their higher price. For premium buck kids older than four weeks, add $100 to the listed premium cost.

Wether Kids:
Wethers are $75 for 1–2 weeks old and $200 for 2 weeks to 3 months. After three months, pricing is $3.75 per pound.

All kids are sold with registration will be DNA typed. Kid prices include the cost of registration, transfer, DNA typing, & first CDT

Horns:
If you want your kid to keep its horns, please notify us before birth. Otherwise, all kids are disbudded and given CDT within their first week. To leave a kid horned, the full purchase price must be paid before birth. This payment is non-refundable unless the specific kid you requested is not born. Horned kids must be picked up by two weeks of age.

We do not sell single kids to homes without another goat of similar age already present. However, we do offer a multiple-goat discount for families purchasing more than one kid.

Discounts:

  • 10% off when purchasing multiple kids

  • Additional discounts for 4H, FFA, performance show, DHIR, and LA participants

We reserve the right to retain any kids needed for our own breeding program after birth.

Preference is given to homes that participate in DHI, LA, or show programs. Ensuring a suitable home is essential, and we take care to screen potential buyers. You may be asked relevant questions when discussing your new kid.
